Marabù Project

The Marabù project, with the assistance of the Women Coordination in the World association, aims to showcase young artists in various institutional venues in Italy and abroad. Artists thus have the opportunity to meet and engage in discussions about both their works and their artistic ideals.

The artworks are curated by the artist Maralba Focone, and the project also intends to serve as a collaborative forum for dialogue between artists and visitors. In addition to this, a media component accompanies the scheduled events in collaboration with the hosting institution.

Events and artists

The project aims to bring together the past generation of artists, masters of techniques that have now become rare, such as "manière noire", with various forms of artistic dissemination, including serigraphy and other lesser-known but equally significant techniques. This can be accomplished in a venue where one can observe an artist's work to better understand their technique and artistic studies, thereby creating a virtuous circuit of events and appointments throughout the city.

The project's expectation is to provide young artists with the opportunity to get to know each other, to step out of the academic setting, and to engage in a realistic and active dialogue about the directions of their art.
